1. The first benefit pay for thousands is to be received today. Reasons for non-payment include incorrect applications, the wrong PPS number being given and duplicate applications being received. The Department has asked that applications be made online and that the phone only be used in cases of emergency in order to alleviate the backlog.

2. Revenue has assured employers that they will not be considered insolvent should they avail of the Covid-9 benefit scheme. There had been some concern that utilising the Benefit Scheme would mean that employers were trading fraudulently as they were insolvent. However, this has been clarified by Revenue. It is important to remember that when an employer makes an application Revenue will review the application and contact the employer to confirm whether or not they are eligible. 3. Nursing homes will agree new health and safety measures with the National Public Health Emergency Team to control the spread of the virus.

4. Animal marts will resume the sale of animals under protocols agreed by the Department of Agriculture.
